We were instructed to carry out this bamboo removal as our clients had an extensive bamboo problem covering a significant portion of their garden. It had spread from where it was originally planted and was found popping up behind a Wendy house in the corner of the property.
Furthermore, having burrowed under the boundary fence, the bamboo encroached into their adjoining neighbour’s raised bed, and even began escaping the confines of that area, taking advantage of small gaps in the brickwork.
Unfortunately, bamboo had also been originally planted on a separate boundary, so we had to remove rhizomes from the lawn and brickwork at a third address.
To avoid further spread and damage, two of our operatives undertook a mechanical excavation across both properties using a 0.8T digger. To complete the removal, we had to take up nearly all the patio to access the extensive network of bamboo runners running wild underneath.
We will return for the first of two included monitoring visits later in the year to check for any signs of regrowth. Our clients opted for a five-year guarantee for further peace of mind.
