Peace of mind for customers during the CV-19 lockdown – Free advice and Japanese knotweed Management Plans

The country may be in lockdown, but Japanese knotweed doesn’t pay heed to such restrictions and is now making itself known in gardens up and down the country. If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, check out our identification page or download our free guide.

So, what should you do and how can we help?

For existing customers, the first and most important message is: don’t panic. Herbicide treatments don’t tend to take place until the plant is in full leaf around the start of June, so we can get everything in place to begin treatment then. If treatment needs to be delayed beyond then due to Covd-19 it is not a major problem and we undertake to cover any spread on your property as a result of any delay caused.

If we’re scheduled to excavate your knotweed, we can assure you we will be on hand to do this as soon as the current restrictions on movement are lifted – and the work will typically only take a couple of days. In the vast majority of cases it won’t do any harm to leave the knotweed happily growing for the next three weeks. Please do not be tempted to tackle it yourself.

We urge new customers to get in touch now, as we’ve put new systems in place which mean we can work with you, through platforms such as FaceTime, to carry out remote surveys. And, to help those of you being hit by Japanese knotweed at this time of lockdown, we’ll prepare your Japanese Knotweed Management Plans completely free, saving you around £250.

People will be spending more time in their gardens over the next few weeks and some 5% of you are likely to spot knotweed, so now is the time to pick up the phone, show us the infestation either through video-call or by sending us photographs, and we will come up with a plan and a quote for treating it or removing it.

Please do not worry, enjoy your gardens and stay safe!

“We had a large stand of bamboo removed, thinned, contained and replaced. The customer service has been first class. Joe and Jason were fabulous and kept me well informed at all times”.
